Privacy Policy

Draft pending legal review. This document has been prepared for launch but has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. Reliable Loop should have it reviewed for California, US and (if selling to the EU/UK) GDPR requirements before relying on it.

Effective date: the date this page is first published (to be set at launch).

PayoutToBooks is a product of Reliable Loop (“we”, “us”), 588 El Camino Real, Unit 167, Santa Clara, CA 95050, USA. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use payouttobooks.pages.dev (the “Service”).

The short version

  • Your files are processed locally. The CSV files you convert are read and transformed by JavaScript running in your own browser. They are never uploaded to us or anyone else, and we cannot see them.
  • We store nothing about your files. There is no server-side processing of your files, no database of your transactions and no copies. When you close the tab, the data is gone from memory.
  • No tracking. We don't use analytics, advertising pixels, fingerprinting or third-party cookies.
  • Payments go through Stripe. We never see your card number.

1. Files you convert

When you choose or drop a file, your browser reads it into memory on your device. The converted output is generated on your device and saved through your browser's normal download feature. The website's Content-Security-Policy only allows the page to connect to its own origin, and that connection is used only for the purchase check described in section 3, which never includes file data. You can verify this by opening your browser's developer tools (Network tab) while converting, or by converting with your internet connection switched off.

2. Information stored in your browser

If you buy Pro, we save a small record in your browser's localStorage: your plan, its expiry date and a digitally signed unlock token. For subscriptions, the token contains an opaque Stripe subscription reference so the site can confirm the subscription is still active. This record never contains file contents, your name or your payment details. You can remove it at any time with “Remove from this browser” in the menu or by clearing site data. We don't set cookies.

3. Payments and purchase verification

Purchases are processed by Stripe, Inc. When you check out, you give your name, email address, billing details and payment information directly to Stripe, which processes them under its own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy). Stripe shares order details with us (such as your email, plan, amount, country and subscription status) so we can provide the Service, give support, handle refunds and meet tax and accounting obligations. We never receive your full card number.

After checkout, Stripe sends you back to our site with a checkout session reference. Your browser sends that reference to our server function, which asks Stripe whether the payment succeeded and then returns the signed unlock token. For subscriptions, your browser periodically sends the token back so we can confirm with Stripe that the subscription is still active. We don't keep a database of these checks. If we turn on a device limit, we store only a count of activations per checkout session, which is deleted automatically after about 13 months.

4. Hosting

The Service is hosted on Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc.), which processes standard technical data (IP address, user agent, requested URL, time) to deliver and protect the website, under Cloudflare's own policy (cloudflare.com/privacypolicy). These logs contain no file contents, because your files are never transmitted.

5. Email

If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply and to keep a record of support. Please don't send us real financial files. If we need an example to fix a format, we'll ask for a redacted or anonymized one.

6. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)

We process purchase and support data to perform our contract with you and to comply with legal (tax and accounting) obligations, and hosting logs for our legitimate interest in running a secure service.

7. Retention

Purchase records held by Stripe and by us are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires (generally up to 7 years). Support emails are kept for up to 24 months. File contents are never retained, because we never have them.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, or the GDPR/UK GDPR), you may have the right to know, access, correct, delete or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict processing. We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights. To make a request, email support@payouttobooks.com. We may need to verify your identity, for example by matching the email used at checkout. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

9. Children

The Service is intended for businesses and adults and is not directed at children under 16.

10. Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the effective date above, and we'll highlight material changes on the site.
